Adelup is continuing to push for full passage of H.R. 4406.
Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Lieutenant Governor Josh Tenorio issued the following statement on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce passage of H.R. 4406 to provide short-term Medicaid funding to the U.S. Territories:
“Over the last three years, we have worked closely with our sister territories and members of Congress, including Chairman Pallone. Particularly in the last several months, I have continued to underscore the need for a permanent solution in my testimony to the House Committee on Energy & Commerce and our annual report,” said Governor Leon Guerrero. “During my meetings with the White House and Congress, I will continue to push for full passage of H.R. 4406.”
The measure will extend increased Medicaid funding for Guam and its temporary federal medical assistance percentage (FMAP) to 83% for the next eight years.
“By receiving House Committee passage, our first hurdle has been cleared. The extension of increased funding under H.R. 4406 will help us provide quality healthcare for the most vulnerable in our community. Our Administration remains committed to advocating for full equity under Medicaid and all other federal programs,” added Lt. Governor Tenorio.
