The Office of the Governor of Guam announced on May 8 that government of Guam employees part of the general pay plan can expect to see the money hit their bank accounts soon.

In January 2023, Governor Leon Guerrero approved a 22% pay adjustment to the General Pay Plan or GPP and submitted Bill 24, now Public Law 37-3, to fund the new GPP pay adjustments from April 1, 2023, until the end of the fiscal year on September 30, 2023.

Pursuant to Public Law 37-3, the Office of the Governor submitted the required plans to the Guam Legislature for unrelated matters, including merit bonuses, annual increments, and financial assistance to businesses, on Friday, May 5, 2023. As a result, the Department of Administration can now release the augmented cash allotments to the respective entities for the new pay adjustments under the GPP.

According to Adelup, individual agencies will now be responsible for paying the new rate adjustments to their employees.
