Some 8,500 tax refund checks were mailed today, Adelup announced.
This covers filers from April 1 through April 15.
According to Adelup, the administration has now paid all ‘Status A’ refunds for a total of $144 million fiscal year to date. Adelup said this total is $29 million more than this same time last fiscal year and more than two weeks ahead of the court-ordered deadline of Oct. 15, 2019.
The increase in total refunds paid is attributed, in part, to nearly 4,000 additional returns
processed as compared to last year.
Adelup also pointed out that the amount of tax refund dollars paid from Section 30 funds is $10 million less than last year, allowing for Section 30 money to be dedicated to other funding priorities.
According to Adelup, the administration accomplished this goal through increased collection and enforcement efforts and effective cash management.
