Adelup: Vaccine Card Mandate Ends; Public Health Emergency Extended

The Governor of Guam has ended the vax card mandate.

The Governor believes that our COVID situation has improved. She notes in the past months, Guam had experienced as many as 850 positive cases in a single day and as many as 70 covid admissions at our hospitals.

But recent weeks have seen a sustained drop.

However, she says, now that over 95% of the island vaccinated and over 52% boosted, the Governor believes that removing this restriction is in the island’s best interest.

As numbers continue to drop and more technology emerges, said the Governor, more restrictions will likely be lifted accordingly.

Regardless, she advises to keep our guards up and to remember to wear a mask.

D.P.H.S.S. also issued guidance late in the evening, in support of the Governor’s changes.
