AAFB Major Jeremy Keyes Arrested on Felony Charge of Fraudulent Use of a License Plate

Guam – Guam Police have arrested Andersen Air Force Base Major Jeremy Keyes on a felony charge of  Fraudulent Use of a License Plate.

GPD Spokesman Lt. Art Paulino reports that Agat Precinct Officers were doing routine traffic enforcement yesterday [Tuesday] afternoon in Piti. They saw Major Keyes driving by in a 2010 Dodge Avenger with an Ohio license plate on it.

They ran a check on the plate through the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) and it came back blank, no information was found.

Lt. Paulino reports that Maj. Keyes acknowledged that “the license plate was changed in order to avoid being reported to the Base Commander.” The three other passengers in the vehicle, all of them AAFB personnel, were also aware that the tags had been changed.

The Dodge was then identified as a U.S. Government owned vehicle and Lt. Paulino says it was turned over to AAFB authorities. However, Andersen Air Force Base Spokesman Capt. Chris Hoyler declined comment the crimminal case is being handled by GPD.

 According to Lt. Paulino, Maj. Keyes and the other AAFB personnel “alleged that an unknown person(s) was taking pictures of U.S. Government vehicles that are in unauthorized areas and forwarding the pictures to base authorities.”

Maj. Keyes was booked & confined for Felony Fraudulent Use of a License Plate.  The other 3 AAFB personnel were all charged with the same offense, but they were booked & released at the recommendation of the Attorney General’s Office.

MEDIA RELEASE RE 13—20356 ARRESTED PERSON

At about 2:54pm July 16, 2013 Officers from the Agat Precinct Command were conducting traffic enforcement in the Piti area and observed a 2010 Dodge Avenger Color Silver bearing a Ohio License Plate. The observing Officer called in the license plate number via the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) which returned with no information. The Observing Officer again called in the information which reported back the same results.

The vehicle was stopped along Route-1 by Fisheye Marine Park and its occupants identified as:

Lieutenant Colonel U.S. Airforce AAFB, Guam
Passenger

4. Bradley Joel Love/ male/ cau/29 years of age
Staff Sergeant U.S. Airforce
Passenger

After conducting an investigation it was learned that the operator and passengers of the vehicle had knowledge that the license plate was changed in order to avoid being reported to the Base Commander. It was alleged that an unknown person(s) was taking pictures of U.S. Government vehicles that are in unauthorized areas and forwarding the pictures to base authorities. The vehicle in question was identified as a U.S. Government vehicle and was turned over to AAFB authorities. 

The operator of the vehicle was arrested and Booked & Confined for Felony Fraudulent Use of a License Plate. The remaining occupants were charged for the same offense but were Booked & Released at the recommendation of the Attorney General’s Office.
