The Guam International Airport Authority has opened phone slots and a shared ride staging area to further decongest incoming and outgoing traffic at the Guam airport.

GIAA spokeswoman Rolenda Faasuamalie told Andrea Pellacani on NewsTalk K57 that the airport decided to adopt these measures to ease the curbside traffic at the airport where passengers are either dropped off for departure or picked up after arrival.

“Curbside drop-off must be very brief and very temporary,” Faasuamalie said.

So far, she said there are only five phone slots so far but the airport plans to install more.

With the phone slots and the shared ride staging area, Faasuamalie said passengers will have a place to wait and call for their rides.
