All Day Festival for Guam’s Youth Coming in April

Guam –  An island wide “Youth Fest” is in the works for Spring Break.

Representatives from Sanctuary, Incorporated of Guam were at the Mayor’s Council meeting today to discuss their plans for the April 30th event and to ask for support from the Mayors.

The event is being planned in conjunction with Youth Month which is celebrated in April across the nation and internationally.  Project Administrator Angelica Mantanona says the festival at the Plaza De Espana and Skinner’s Plaza in Hagatna will include Carnival Rides, a Battle of the Bands, Games and other activities.
“What we want to do is to bring out out youth and to start a new beginning with our youth,” Mantanono told the Mayors.  “The point of it all is to promote this positve role modeling and to let the youth know the services and people in the community that are there to support them.”

Youth Fest is intended for youth from age 12 all the way up to 24.
