All Guam Department of Education (GDOE) schools will open as regularly scheduled today, Monday, September 16, except for Agueda Johnston and Ordot Chalan Pago Elementary which were fumigated against dengue.
While heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms affected Guam over the weekend, the Superintendent of Education has determined that all schools are able to resume normal operations on Monday morning.
GDOE will continue to monitor road safety and potential impacts on bus operations in collaboration with the Department of Public Works.
“We will continue to monitor the rainy weather throughout the evening and overnight in the interest of student safety,” GDOE Superintendent Jon Fernandez said. “Any weather-related decisions regarding school opening will be officially announced through the Guam Department of Education.”
Residents are encouraged to monitor local news updates and weather conditions. Any schedule changes will be officially announced through the Guam Department of Education.
