All Souls Day is celebrated on November 2.
Guam – Today, many of the islands cemeteries were packed with residents celebrating the memories of their loved ones. Every year, thousands of residents gather at various catholic cemeteries to attend mass and celebrate their loved ones. At Guam Memorial cemetery in Barrigada, parking for the 11 a.m. mass extended into the village as the cemetery filled up hours before the ceremony.
Guam Memorial was one of the cemeteries to offer a shuttle service to help get residents to the mass. The ceremonies began with a moment of silence, which lead into a traditional mass and ended with a blessing of the graves. It’s tradition for each family to gather around a loved ones grave site during the actual ceremony.
