AmeriCorps celebrates ‘Make a Difference Day’

The AmeriCorps programs in Guam are celebrating a “Make A Difference Day” Saturday, October 23, 2021!

Make a Difference Day is an opportunity for AmeriCorps members and volunteers to unite in a common mission through service. This year, AmeriCorps started a Donation Drive that collected non-perishable food items like canned goods and snack/drinks, school supplies, and various activity items for children around the island.

Several locations have been identified to be beneficiaries for Make a Difference Day including Global Dorm, Erica’s House, Sanctuary, Inc., and the Pediatrics Unit at GMHA. Care packages will be donated tomorrow.

The schedule is as follows:

-10 am at the Global Dorm in Maite
-11 am at GMHA
-1 pm at Erica’s House

In addition, and because the weather has made making a donation a little difficult, the community can still participate in the donation drive-through tomorrow. If anyone is interested in donating non-perishables and school supplies they can see an AmeriCorps member at our outreach table displays at the Agana Shopping Center, the Dededo Senior Center, and the Malesso’ Senior Center from 10 am to 2 pm.
