An Update With the IT&E Downed Undersea Cable

Another update in the IT&E downed cable situation in Saipan.

Guam – According to a press release from IT&E, the undersea cable repair ship departed Taiwan on July 16th, at 10 pm. The initial arrival date was scheduled for Wednesday; however, IT&E says the repair ship was delayed due to quote “rough seas.” According to the release, IT&E expects the ship to arrive today. Back on July 8th, IT&E’s main cable between Guam and the CNMI was damaged, limiting connectivity to Guam and causing a communications blackout in Saipan.
