Andersen Air Force Base confirmed Guam’s latest COVID-19 case on Tuesday.
Joint Region Marianas says the latest patient was identified through screening done at AFB.
LCDR Rick Moore, with Joint Region Marianas, told PNC News, “the service member was tested upon completion of their 14-day Restriction of Movement period upon arrival in Guam, in accordance with Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet guidance.”
“The testing was directed in alignment with guidance for the service member to exit the 14-day ROM period,” said Moore.
The Public Affairs rep for JRM said the service member remains in isolation at Andersen AFB.
The patient was asymptomatic at the time of testing, according the Joint Information Center.
Moore declined to comment on where the member was coming from when they arrived on Guam.
This latest case brought Guam’s total case count to 180 as of Tuesday evening.
