There was another big turnout at the COVID-19 community testing today.
It was held at the Astumbo Gym in Dededo this morning. By 8:30 a.m. more than 100 cars had already lined up for the 9 a.m. opening. By the end of the day, 398 people were tested.
Public Health Program Coordinator Bertha Taijeron said they started lining up before 7 a.m.
“With the recent spike, I think people just want peace of mind. They want to come and get tested just so they know. And yes, we have seen people come in more than once to get tested. However, we encourage those people who may have been in close contact with individuals who are positive to get themselves tested. This is open and it’s free and it’s for the community,” Taijeron said.
More community outreach testing is planned but no new dates have been set yet.
