Guam – Another in-flight emergency was declared aboard last night’s [Sunday] Continental Flight 1 from Honolulu.
The Boeing 767-400 was on approach to Guam when the crew aborted their approach due to an indicator light advising that the landing gear was not fully deployed and locked into place.
The pilot performed a low approach to have the landing gear checked from the ground. Observers advised that the landing gear was indeed fully extended.
The aircraft subsequently landed safely about 50 minutes after aborting the first approach.
This is the 5th in flight emergency declared in the past month.
