GACS PR Larry Claros confirms: GACS employees were not paid as of last Friday.
Guam – Another pay less payday is in effect for employees of the Guahan Academy Charter School. According to GACS PR Larry Claros, the charter school has not paid their employees since last week.
Claros tells PNC that the partial allocation request was sent to the Department of Administration on October 6.
He adds however that DOA did not transmit that same request until the 13th. Claros said that when the transmission was not made on time, GACS Board Chairwoman Fe Ovalles made a request to Superintendent Jon Fernandez.
Unfortunately, the disbursement wasn’t signed until this past Friday which was payday.
The PR for GACS says DOA assured the school that they will release the check sometime tomorrow.
This is now the second time in this academic year alone where employees were not paid in a timely manner.
The last time GACS employees experienced a pay less payday, only individuals who signed up for direct deposit were affected.
It should be noted that I-Learn Academy, the island’s second charter school has not experienced a pay less payday.
