Another unexploded ordnance found, this time in Dededo


Around 3 p.m., the Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) received a report of a found unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Biradan Langat St., Dededo.

This is the second ordnance found by Homeland Security today. Earlier, at around 12 p.m., the office reported finding an unexploded ordnance in Tun Louis Tugon St., Rt. 15, Yigo.

The Guam Fire Department is on the scene and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit has been requested. There are no evacuations or road closures at this time.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.

GHS/OCD remind residents and visitors to practice the “3Rs of Explosive Safety” when any UXO or munition is encountered:

  • Recognize – when you may have encountered a munition and that munitions are dangerous.
  • Retreat – do not approach, touch, move, or disturb it, but carefully leave the area.
  • Report – call 911 and advise of what you saw and where you saw it.
