A recent animal attack that left a well-loved neighborhood dog dead in Yigo inspired an anti-animal cruelty advocacy group to hold a protest on Friday.
The Justice for Walter protest was organized by Tinamarie Guzman who is part of the Guahan Paws for Pets — an animal rescue group.
Guzman says this is their second protest. The first one was spurred by the death of another neighborhood dog — Pugua — whose attack pushed the drafting of legislation in support of animal safety.
“This is actually our second protest, The first protest that we did…we wanted to push the animal cruelty bill…it was named the PUGUA Act because of the dog that was shot,” Guzman said.
She added: “So many animals are being neglected and abused..killed…for no reason..and nobody’s held accountable for these acts.”
For those who want to join the protest, it will happen tomorrow at 5:30 pm at the Tamuning Mayor’s Office.
