Today is Arbor Day — a day when volunteers nationwide put on their gloves and pick up a shovel to plant a tree.
That’s what students from Juan Guerrero Elementary School helped do this morning when they helped to plant some trees around the Northern Sports Complex in Dededo.
Among the speakers at the event were Department of Agriculture Director Chelsea Muna-Brecht who said her department is committed to supporting more programs to beautify the island by planting trees and taking better care of our environment.
Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio was also on hand and he signed an Arbor Day proclamation.
