Archbishop ordains second new priest for Guam today

The Archdiocese of Agaña is welcoming its second new priest in three weeks as Archbishop Michael Byrnes ordains Rev. Mr. Junee Valencia to the priesthood 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral-Basilica in Hagatña.

 The archdiocese kindly reminds everyone that COVID-19 safety protocols such as wearing of masks and social distancing will be strictly required. Seating in the church is limited, following social distance requirements.

 Archbishop Byrnes ordained Father Honorio “Ron” Valdeavilla Pangan Jr. to the priesthood last Oct. 17 at the Cathedral-Basilica.

Father Ron and Deacon Junee were classmates at St. Patrick’s Seminary at Menlo Park, California. Another classmate, Deacon William Mamangun is scheduled to be ordained to the priesthood on Dec. 12.

Father Junee will celebrate his first Solemn Mass 11 a.m. the following day, Sunday, Nov. 8 at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Tamuning. That Mass will be livestreamed at .
