Archdiocese closing 24-hour COVID-19 helpline; abuse victims line remains open

The Archdiocese of Agaña announces that it will close its 24-hour information helpline for matters pertaining to COVID-19 by Friday, May 29, 2020.

The Archdiocese had established a national toll-free number of 1 (800) 961-9848 last March to help Guam Catholics with questions about Church matters related to COVID-19 following the temporary suspension of public Masses in the archdiocese and closures of parish offices and schools.

With the suspension of public Masses in the archdiocese set to be lifted this weekend and many archdiocese offices reopening, the helpline is being discontinued.

Abuse Victims Assistance Hotline remains open

The COVID-19 Helpline is different from the Archdiocese’s Victims Assistance Hotline of (671) 562-0039. That hotline remains opens Mon-Fri. from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. for any persons in need of reporting sexual abuse by a member of the clergy or a church employee/volunteer.
