An arrest has been made in the drive-by shooting incident in Tamuning on Tuesday.
The incident occurred in broad daylight on Governor Carlos Camacho Road. The victims told police that they were passing Shirley’s restaurant headed north when they heard a loud bang.
Traveling at a high rate of speed in the median was a silver sedan described as a Toyota Camry. GPD spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao said GPD launched a search for the vehicle.
That search led Criminal investigation Division officers to identify the driver as John Anthony McCord Jr. CID and SWAT officers located him in the Tamuning area, according to Tapao.
He was later arrested on offenses of aggravated assault; reckless conduct; criminal mischief; unlawful discharge of a firearm; possession, and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony; guilt established by complicity and criminal facilitation.
This is not the first time McCord has been implicated in a crime involving a firearm. His criminal record showed he was arrested in 2014 for armed robbery. At the time, police said that he was armed with a .44 Magnum revolver.
McCord was booked and confined and details of the case are forthcoming.
