Guam – Arrests have been made in two fatal crashes which occurred within the last three months, and it appears both drivers were being negligent behind the wheel.
The Guam Police Department has closed the case on the November 10th fatal auto pedestrian crash by Yigo Pay-Less, arresting Austin Travis Mesa Rabon. Rabon was identified as the operator of the vehicle which struck Patterson Gallen as he attempted to cross Marine Corp drive by Yigo Payless. GPD Spokesman Sgt Paul Tapao says investigators determined that Rabon was heading southbound when he executed a lane change onto the outer southbound lane, striking Gallen.
Rabon was arrested for vehicular homicide, vehicular negligence, speeding, and reckless driving with injuries.
In the second case, detectives arrested Charity Merly Alex, indicating that she was behind the wheel of the vehicle which collided with the vehicle driven by the late Yun Sik Park. The 2-car crash occurred on January 6th on Airport Road by Papa’s Restaurant. Investigators say Alex encroached onto oncoming traffic, colliding with Park’s vehicle. Park died six days after the crash.
Alex was arrested on charges of vehicular homicide, vehicular negligence, imprudent driving, and no driver’s license.
Both were booked and confined.
