Guam – The store owner of a vape shop in Mangilao is seeking the community’s assistance following an attempted break-in during the early hours of Sunday, April 14.
Between 3:20 and 3:50 a.m. on Sunday, April 14, an individual in a hoodie tried to break the lock of the door to Vape Escape in Mangilao.
Security footage from the incident captured the face of the individual trying to break-in, a partial license plate number, and the make and model of the vehicle.
Vape Escape CEO Theseus Mendiola said that this was not the first time something like this happened.
The robbers were successful the first time, according to Mendiola. “They stole approximately $5000 from our safe. Had broken into it. They had also stolen approximately $2,000 to $3,000 in hardware. We haven’t gotten any leads on that one,” he said.
Mendiola said that since the first break-in, Vape Escape has upped their security by installing extra security cameras, motion detection systems, and using a bolt-on lock.
Mendiola is asking for the community’s help in identifying the individual who attempted the burglary.
“If the public can help out, we have the video circulating of the individual. It’s a pretty good video of his face, outlining. We are looking for that vehicle. It’s a dark-colored Mitsubishi Outlander and the license plate ending is 835 and 335,” Mendiola said.
If you have any information regarding the incident, please contact Vape Escape on their Facebook page or call the Guam Police Department.
