Astumbo shooting leaves one dead, investigation ongoing

Guam – A shooting Monday afternoon in Astumbo, Dededo left one dead.

Guam Police Department spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao told K57’s Patti Arroyo that around 1:30 p.m. Monday, detectives from GPD’s Criminal Investigation Division were called to assist Superior court marshals with a reported incident in the Sagan Linahyan area of Astumbo.

An individual was transported to Guam Regional Medical City at around 2:24 p.m., according to Tapao. The unnamed individual had “succumbed to his injuries” and pronounced dead.

“We are moving forward with a shooting investigation. Our detectives have yet to conclude all pertinent and important interviews with the case.”

Tapao said GPD will continue investigations today. He said he cannot disclose more information about the shooting relative to the ongoing investigation.
