This is the 13th consecutive year that GDOE is on high-risk grantee status with USDOE, the report states.
Guam – The Guam Department of Education remains a high-risk grantee with the US Department of Education, according to the latest audit issued by the Office of Public Accountability.
GDOE has now been on high-risk grantee status for the last thirteen years. However, the OPA says that this is the first time that the education department had no material weaknesses for both financial statements and federal programs.
Independent auditors Deloitte and Touche did identify two significant deficiencies in their audit with regards to procurement or professional training and instructional materials.
According to the OPA, GDOE disagreed with the findings, which resulted in delay in submitting their audit reports.
