Autopsy confirms 15-year-old drowning victim died of asphixia

Guam – Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola has completed the autopsy of the male minor who drowned at Marbo Cave.

It was on Monday that Guam Fire Department responded to a reported drowning at Marbo Cave at 2:14 pm. GFD Spokesman Kevin Reilly stated that the victim was with a group of four individuals when the incident occurred.

Despite resuscitation efforts, the victim was pronounced dead. According to Dr. Espinola the victim was 15 years old and he determined the cause of death to be asphyxia due to drowning.
