Guam – Although the autopsy of Steven Seagraves, the man fatally shot by police last Friday is complete, Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola shares that the Guam Police Department has asked him not to disclose the results.

During a press conference Friday, Chief JI Cruz told media that suspect Steve Seagraves died from injuries he sustained during an alleged shootout with the police.

It was Dr. Espinola who pronounced the suspect’s death at the crime scene in Dededo and confirmed Seagrave’s identity.

The medical examiner tells PNC that he was told not to disclose further information until after GPD has concluded their investigation. Seagraves has had multiple run-ins with the law prior to the fatal shootout — all involving driving while under the influence.

On Friday, he reportedly led police on a 10 to 15 minute car chase after being confronted for armed robbery at the House of Liberty Gameroom in Barrigada.

At least two officers have been placed on administrative leave after the incident and an internal investigation remains ongoing.
