Philip J. Flores, President and Chairman of the Board for BankPacific, committed $100,000.00 to UOG’s 60th Anniversary Capital Campaign today at 10:00 a.m., at the UOG President’s Conference Room. The representatives who accepted his donation include UOG President Robert A. Underwood, UOG Endowment Foundation Executive Director Mark Mendiola, UOG President Emeritus and UOG Endowment Foundation Board Member Wilfred Leon Guerrero, and UOG Endowment Foundation Board Vice Chair Joseph F. Ada.
“We’re happy to do it,” said Mr. Flores. “My grandfather [Governor Joseph Flores] was always a huge believer of education and was a former member of the UOG Board of Regents. He always told me, ‘Son, we give back.’”
“We are grateful to BankPacific for the level of this donation,” said President Underwood. “The generosity of the Flores family means a great deal to the university.”
“Two of our company’s senior vice presidents are UOG graduates,” Mr. Flores stated.
Through their donation, BankPacific will be acknowledged as a “21st-Century Visionary” in the Triton Developers program, a fundraising strategy designed to attract different levels of support which can be spread over five years of the capital campaign.
“It is vital that our alumni, the business community, and concerned citizens have stepped up to support the University,” President Underwood said.
