BankPacific Turns 60

301
Guam –  BankPacific is celebrating its birthday.

It was 60 years ago Monday, June 7th,  when BankPacific, then known as Guam Savings and Loan Association, opened its doors to the public in the Guam Daily News Building, where the DNA Building stands today in Hagatna.

Their first depositor was then-Governor Ford Elvidge and it was received by future governor and bank founder Joseph Flores.  The bank’s first loan was to the late Joe and Flo Gutierrez for their home in Agana Heights.

BankPacific will host an appreciation party for all former employees of Guam Savings and BankPacific on July 19 and invite former employees to contact Tricia Scott at 479-1180 or Patti Murer at 479-1192 for more information.

“We also thank our loyal customers and shareholders,” said BankPacific president Philip Flores.  “Without them, we would not be where we are today.”
BankPacific has offices in Hagatna, Tamuning, Dededo, Agat, Saipan and Palau.

The bank is wrapping up a three year renovation of its Hagatna headquarters and invites customers and non-customer alike to stop in and see the beautiful improvements.

They are also offering a special 5.4% personal loan during the month of July to commemorate their opening in 1954.
