GPLS: Electrical Problems Force Closure of Barrigada Public Library

Guam – The Barrigada Library has been closed until further notice due to electrical problems.

The Guam Public Library System (GPLS) announced the closure today [Wednesday].  No date is mentioned for re-opening it

A release from GPLS calls it an “emergency closure” and explains that the move is necessary “to ensure the safety of employees and patrons who visit the Barrigada Branch Library.”

BARRIGADA LIBRARY EMERGENCY CLOSURE

Please be advised that due to electrical problems, the Guam Public Library System (GPLS)has closed its Barrigada Library Branch until further notice.

The emergency closure is to ensure the safety of employees and patrons who visit theBarrigada Branch Library.

The management and staff of the Guam Public Library Systemapologizes for the inconvenience this closure may cause to patrons.

We appreciate thepublic’s patience as we work to resolve this matter.

Barrigada residents can utilize the main library in Hagåtña, or any of GPLS’ branches inAgat, Dededo, Merizo, and Yona.

The Bookmobile is also available to villages without branch libraries.
