Black, Mace JV win 3 DOD contracts totaling $27.8M

The Department of Defense has announced the award of three firm-fixed-price contracts totaling more than $27.8 million to Black Construction of Tamuning Guam and Mace International of London England, a joint venture firm.

The three contracts are for construction work at the U.S. Naval Support Facility on the British Indian Ocean atoll of Diego Garcia.

Each contract was awarded by The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Far East, Diego Garcia.

The funding for all three projects is coming from the Fiscal 2020 Naval Research Laboratory budget. The funding authority expires at the end of the current fiscal year.

The 3 projects are:

  1. $12,297,700 to construct ta 34-meter antenna facility and support infrastructure.

The work is expected to be completed by April 2021.  A single source proposal was received for this task order.

  1. $7,818,909 to construct a 13-meter diameter, new Radome No. 2 with reinforced concrete antenna footings, internal concrete room, ring wall, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning unit, electrical and communication lines.

The work is expected to be completed by February 2021. Two proposals were received for this task order.

  1. $7,733,968 to construct a 13-meter diameter, new Radome No. 1 with reinforced concrete antenna footings, internal concrete room, ring wall, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning unit, electrical and communication lines.

The work is expected to be completed by February 2021. Two proposals were received for this task order.

The total value of the three contracts is $27,850,577.
