Tumon, Guam – The 4th Beach Rugby Tournament featured a new venue and even larger playing area. Teams of all ages and experience came out all weekend long to play in Guam Rugby’s newest tradition. There were fast passing and ball skills from teams, such as Yakitori Japan, Payless Supermarket Baggers, Sandy Buttcracks, and the Calvo Insurance Untouchables.
The finals were between two of Guam’s well known gyms, The Paradise Fitness Center Blazing Typhoons and the Custom Fitness Lions. After much back and forth, it was the Blazing Typhoons that came out on top winning the finals 4-2.
In the rugby community, tackle rugby takes place all year long. This is the only event that features touch rugby on the beach. Every year the tournament has increased in teams and popularity. We look to have even more teams and more fun for the 5th Beach Rugby Tournament on December 13-14 at Jimmy Dees Beach Bar!
