Guam – On behalf of the Paet family, Andersen Air Force Base issued a release Thursday stating that the family of Air Force Staff Sgt. Nathan Paet is requesting privacy as his remains are returned to the island this evening [Thursday].
The release states that Sergeant Paet was assigned to Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.
An Honor Guard from Andersen Air Force Base will handle the dignified transfer of his remains into his family’s custody.
The release also quotes Paet’s Aunt Tami Paet Matanane as saying ““We want to thank the community for their messages of support and prayers during this difficult time.”
“We ask that our privacy continue to be respected for the time being to allow us to grieve as a family before we join the community in our collective mourning.”
