BOG Offers Financial Literacy Instruction to the Young

153

Guam – Bank of Guam is the first local bank to offer interactive financial literacy games to provide instruction in saving and investing for students as young as 8 years old.

In addition to leading the banking community in national financial outreaches such as the upcoming National Teach Children to Save Day for the 10th year in a row, Bank of Guam has spearheaded numerous presentations at schools and the University of Guam.

The program is being offered in a gradual release to the island schools.  So far, Santa Barbara, Saint Anthony, Bishop Baumgartner, San Vicente and Dominican Catholic schools are participating for students ages 8 – 14 years of age.  Summer school programs are encouraged to sign up for the term, and a wider release of the product will be completed in the fall.
