Bordallo Expresses Support for Obama’s Freeze on Federal Wages

Guam – Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo has issued a statement expressing support for President Obama’s proposal to freeze federal wages for two years:
The statement reads:

“President Obama’s proposal to freeze wages for federal civil servants nationwide for two years is one of the initiatives the Congress will consider as we focus on our nation’s budget deficit.  It is important that we ensure a balance between fiscal discipline and the need to retain a quality federal workforce.  Although federal workers may feel singled out by this proposal, I believe that more budget cuts are forthcoming, and the President’s concept of shared sacrifice will be more clearly understood when he delivers his Fiscal Year 2012 budget to Congress.”
