Guam – Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo has issued a statement of support of the framework agreement on tax relief and job creation recently announced by President Barack Obama.
The statement reads as follows:
“I support President Obama’s compromise tax, unemployment insurance and economic stimulus plan. While the plan is not perfect it is critical to reach compromise on this matter so we can consider other critical legislation before the end of the 111th Congress like the defense authorization bill. Moreover, the payroll tax cut is an important tool to help provide immediate stimulus to our economy by increasing take home pay for workers. Overall, this plan represents an important first step towards ensuring bipartisan cooperation in tackling our most difficult economic and budget issues in the coming Congress.”
The components of the agreement will be voted on by the U.S. Senate on Monday, December 13.
