As the new school year approaches, you may find yourself going through the store aisles to buy new supplies to prepare your child for a new year of learning.

But while there are a number of students fortunate enough to receive brand new supplies for school, many families struggle to provide their children with the proper tools for their education due to financial difficulties or a lack of availability.

This is where the Ayuda Foundation’s Broken Crayon Project, which aims to provide school supplies to schools in need across Micronesia, comes in.

The project accepts used, but still functioning supplies and donation collection is ongoing through Aug. 9 at the front desk of the Guam Department of Education’s Building B in Tiyan between 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
