According to an official magistrate’s report, on October 29, “Dave” was accused of threatening a male minor with a knife.

Child Protective Services were called. As they waited for CPS, “Dave” told the officer that he was angry at his brother for what he did when he heard the minor yelling in pain before he saw “Ben” holding an object against the minor’s back. Dave also said he would punish the victim more if he didn’t stop crying.

The victim mentioned that his uncle would use a knife to reopen his wounds and the defendant denied threatening the victim and clarified that he would “poke” the victim with a knife to scare him and only touch the victim’s wounds when applying antibiotic cream. He further explained that he was “amused” at the victim’s cries and said used it as a way to discipline the minor.

As PNC previously reported, Benjamin John Desoto Rabon is charged with aggravated assault as a 3rd-degree felony, child abuse as a misdemeanor, and family violence also as a misdemeanor.

The victim told officers that his stepfather would frequently burn him with a torch and would hurt him often. The defendant stated that he burned his stepson with a torch as a “form of discipline.” Allegedly, Rabon was under the influence of methamphetamines.
