Guam – Senator Ben Pangelinan says that Acting DPW Director Joanne Brown has assured his office that DPW and the Guam Transportation Program are in compliance with Public Law 29-098, which mandates the inclusion of bike lanes and pedestrian walkways in road construction projects.

The release states that Brown’s assurance comes in response to a letter of inquiry from Pangelinan.

Brown’s response includes “a list of road construction projects, current, ongoing and completed as well as the project title, status of the project, village, and its compliance or non-compliance with public law,” states the release. And “Those projects deemed to be non-compliant presented unsafe conditions to pedestrians and cyclists and were exempt from the list.  Also exempt were those projects that have no bearing on roadway improvements.
