Bud Light Golden Hoops Classic Ends Season With Championship Sunday

(October 27, 2013)  The two-month season concluded Sunday at the Tamuning Gym in the three divisions in the 2013 Bud Light Golden Hoops Classic. In the Coed Recreation Division, the Tamuning Typhoons defeated Fuesta Club 56-46 for the title. Chino Cruz from the Tamuning Typhoons was named MVP, while teammate William Belger was named Top Scorer with a total of 164 points and a 20.5 average per game.

The Tamuning Typhoons edged out the Bank of Guam Club, 51-50, for the Championship in the 30-Plus Masters division. Tamuning’s Francis Sunga was named MVP, while Joe Steven Duenas took Top Scorer honors with a season total of 164 points and a 20.5 per game average.

In the Men’s Varsity Championship, the Andersen Bombers had to play the “If” game, coming up from the Losers bracket to beat the Tamuning Typhoons 81-58. Ledget Glover of the Bombers took MVP honors while Reggie Rechebong of Team Justice took the Top Scorer title with a season total of 263 points for an average per game of 23.91.
