Guam – Governor Felix Camacho and Governor Elect Eddie Calvo met behind closed doors at Adelup Wednesday morning to talk about the transition of power from the current administration to the next
They spent about an hour behind closed doors talking about the transition of power. Afterwards it was all handshakes and smiles between one republican and another. But the tough process of transition and deciding who will go and who will stay is only just beginning.
Afterwards, Calvo said his meeting with the Governor would be the first of many.
The Governor Elect will be taking power at a time when GovGuam is at a financial low ebb facing a $265 million dollar deficit and debt obligations of more than a billion. But Calvo said he is counting on the buildup to turn things around.
On Monday, the Governor Elect appointed Democrat Dan Tydingco and Republican Jerry Crisostimo to Co-Chair their transition team. They are working with Governor Camacho’s Transition Team which is Chaired by Shawn Gumataotao.
The one cloud on the horizon of the transition is the threat of legal action from the Guiterrez campaign. But Calvo said he is not worried.
