Calvo; Gutierrez Vote Early; Both Confident, But Still Campaigning

Guam – The rival Gubernatorial teams were out early to vote and continue their campaign to get out the vote this election day.

Senator Eddie Calvo and his wife voted about 7:20 am this morning at J.Q. San Miguel in Maite.

Calvo told the Pacific News Center, “We’ve run a 15 month campaign, Ray and I … after these many many months and the good lord and the people will make their decision.”  He said “My hopes are to get a victory … and serve the people in what I believe is going to be the most dynamic period in our history.”

Democrat and former Governor Carl Gutierrez voted at Agana Heights Elementary about 9 this morning. “I think its going to be a big turnout today. People are excited.”

Gutierrez told PNC News that he would be go around to every Precinct on the island to thank his supporters. “For 2 years, its been a lot of work, a lot of volunteers. Its just a fantastic campaign that Frank and I have put together.” He too was upbeat and confident of victory today..
