Car Crash Results in the Death of an 88-Year-Old Pedestrian


A car crash results in the death of an 88-year-old pedestrian.

Last night, around 6 pm, patrol officers responded to a traffic collision that involved a pedestrian on Route 1 Marine Corps Drive by Serenu Avenue in Tamuning.

GPD says that upon arrival, Personnel from the Guam Fire Department were already on the scene providing medical attention to the pedestrian who was immediately transported to the Guam Memorial Hospital.

According to GPD, a gray sedan was going eastbound on the outer lane of Route 1 before hitting a pedestrian who was crossing the road.

Originally, GPD reported that the pedestrian had non-fatal injuries following the incident.

However, GPD reports that during the course of the investigation, Highway Patrol officers were notified that the pedestrian, an 88-year-old male, was pronounced deceased.

The case remains under investigation.
