Guam Power Authority customers are in line for another reduction in their power bills.
Consolidation Commission on Utilities (CCU) Commissioner Simon Sanchez says the CCU board last night approved a 3-cent reduction in its Levelized Energy Adjustment Clause.
The current LEAC rate is 11 cents per kilowatt hour. The proposed reduction will take it down to 9 cents. Sanchez says that translates into a roughly $20 dollar reduction in the average residential power bill.
That would be the third decrease in the fuel surcharge since February 1st.
If the Public Utilities Commission approves, you could see a lower power bill by June 1st.
The PUC is scheduled to meet next Thursday, May 28.
