CCU Chair Says Any Japanese Funds For Sewer Upgrades Here Won’t Have to Be Re-Paid by GWA


Guam – CCU Chairman Simon Sanchez says the Japanese loans or “cash contributions” for buildup related infrastructure projects on Guam won’t be paid back by GWA or island residents. Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun has reported that Tokyo will back out of  lending millions for sewer upgrades because GWA can not pay the money back. But Sanchez called the reports “speculative.”
