Earlier today, groups of interested job seekers filled out applications and sat down with employers at the Guam 2020 Census job fair at the Micronesia Mall.
Following the success of its previous job fair last month, the Guam Census Office held another job fair to recruit for the upcoming 2020 Census, which will gather demographic data from residents throughout the island that can help get federal aid as well as inform policies that could affect life on Guam.
Robert Clark, Partnership Specialist at the Guam Census Office, said the census is like a once in a decade snapshot of our community.
“It tells us a wealth of information – demographic, socioeconomic. That information is used to fund things like healthcare and public safety and education. So we really can’t stress enough why it’s important. So that’s why we’re trying to get as many people involved with us as possible because when we start early next year, it’s gonna be really exciting,” Clark said.
These positions are a mix of both part-time and full-time and if you’re interested, there will be another job fair at the Agana Shopping Center on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or call the Guam Census Office at 645-2020.
