Central Blanks Southern in Opening Game of the 2011 Guam Little League Majors District Tournament

Guam – An early offensive explosion was all the Central All Stars needed in a 6-0 shutout against the Southern All Stars. In the first game of the weekend tournament, Central busted out for four runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back.
Central’s Andrew Naputi went five and one third innings allowing no runs, with teammate Aaron Pangelinan coming in to get the last two outs to preserve the shut out. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Central solidified the win when Magalahi Salas and Naputi both hit solo homeruns back to back.

The Northern All Stars will face off against Southern on Sunday, June 12, 2011 with Northern taking on Central on Monday, June 13, 2001. The team with the best record will win the tournament and represent Guam in the 2011 Asia Pacific Tournament slated for next month on Guam.
