Guam – The Central All Stars are Guam District Champions after taking the 7-4 win in Game 2 over the Northern All Stars in the 2012 Guam Little League Majors District Tournament.

This morning at the Dededo Sports Complex Little League Field, it was a must win situation for Northern as they lost Game 1 of the Best of 3 series on Friday, June 15, 13-2. It looked like Northern was on their way to tying the series up when they took a 4-3 lead after three innings of play.

Central, however, kept their focus in the bottom of the fourth when Isaiah Nauta and Daniel Diaz scored to make it 5-4 Central. Central secured their win in the bottom of the fifth with two more runs when Kenji McCarthy hit an infield single to short that brought in Gabriel Garza, followed by Garza scoring on a Nauta single to right.

Central’s Reed Seman pitched three and a third scoreless innings to shut down the Northern offense. Central takes the Best of 3 series, 2-0, and earns the right to represent Guam in the 2012 Asia-Pacific (ASPAC) Regional Majors Little League Tournament which will take place in Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) on July 3, 2012.

The Central All Stars will compete against countries from the Asia Pacific region for the annual trip to Williamsport, Pennsylvania and the Little League World Series later in August 2012.
