Guam – On August 8th, at 10am, a mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Anthony Apuron in Yigo at the site of the Chagui’an massacre.
The Mass will commemorate the “Forgotten Massacre” of 45 Chamorro men who were beheaded by the Japanese just as the island was being liberated by the Marines in 1944.
A commemoration ceremony already took place on July 14th on the anniversary of the day the massacre occurred. The Mass will take place on the anniversary of the discovery of the victims.
The general public is invited to join the the Chagui’an Memorial Mass celebration.
