The Guam Police Department has received sizable donations of personal protective gear from several local organizations to reduce the risk of COVID-19 officer exposure on the front lines.
To help GPD officers carry out their duty to serve and protect the community, several donations were made this month.
At the beginning of the month, GPD received a donation of 5,000 surgical masks from the United Chinese Association and PPE gloves from SPPC.
On April 15th, the Rotary Club of Guam donated 1,000 surgical masks. This was followed by the Korean Guam Travel Association’s donation of 10,000 masks on Monday.
Chief of Police Stephen Ignacio, on behalf of the men and women of the Guam Police Department, stated: “We are truly grateful for the kind donation of essential PPEs. These PPEs will truly serve in line with our daily operations and with our efforts in maintaining safety and security during this public health emergency. Thank you to all who have donated and God Bless.”
